Tribute to Prof. Siyanbola MALOMO by WIMIN President

It is with sadness that I received the news of the death of Prof. Siyanbola Malomo. At a very young age, he taught me at the University of Ife. I
remember the easy-going and quiet lecturer in his orange FIAT car!

In an age when hard work was the basis of ascension in the academic space he shone!
He was brilliant and committed to his work and loved by all. Fate brought us together again when he took up the NGSA as the pioneer DG, and his accomplishments as pioneer DG was very encouraging.

He contributed significantly to the intellectual space in the mineral sector and complemented it with the needed infrastructure. The Roadmap adopted in the sector is one of his distinctive contributions along with other co- authors.

Prof SIYAN MALOMO was an asset and a great Nigerian who will forever be remembered for his various contributions in the engineering and geology fields, as well as the Nigerian Mining Sector.

On behalf of Women in Mining Nigeria Initiative which he supported greatly in his life time, we pray for the repose of his soul and extend our deepest condolences to the NGSA family, his Colleagues from the University of Ife, the past graduates and alumni community of the University of Ife and most especially his beloved wife and children left to mourn his demise.
