 Kenya’s Women in Energy and Extractives to stage Inaugural Mining Week

The Association for Women in Energy and Extractives in Kenya (AWEIK) in partnership with the Kenya Chamber of Mines has announced plans to host the inaugural Kenya Mining Week (Conference and Exhibition) from 17th – 19th July, 2023 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Upperhill Nairobi, Kenya.

The theme of this year’s Kenya Mining Week is “The value of new-moment partnerships in mining to drive economic growth” and is underpinned by the need to reimagine the links between Kenya’s mining sector and the nation’s broader economic goals with considerations of its key contribution to the global mining agenda.

Kenya Mining Week Expo and Conference will feature 3-day exhibitionKenya Mining Investment ForumGold ConventionGemstone Summit and Mine Tours, and will attract participation from industry experts, operators, and potential investors from across Africa and the world.

AWEIK is Kenya’s chapter of the global Women in Mining Network, established to advance the course of female miners in the country and protect their rights in the sector. The Mining Week offers an opportunity to showcase the country’s richness in minerals, and the activities of women in the sector.
